Soleil Carlström Hébert
I'm Soleil, an artist creating
expressive pieces with color and texture.
I am an artist inspired by my multicultural heritage, with Swedish, African-American, and Native American roots. My work, primarily in abstract, combines bold structures, dynamic colors, and layered textures to convey emotions beyond words. I aim to take viewers on a visual journey that transcends boundaries and invites personal reflection. Through my art, I hope to inspire others to explore emotions, ideas, and the richness of the human experience.
I’m Soleil Carlström Hébert, originally from Helsingborg, Sweden, and now pursuing my passion for art at NABA in Milan, Italy. My journey has been a quest for meaning, starting in the corporate world where I earned a high school diploma in Economics, then specialized in Service Management with a focus on Tourism. However, I quickly realized this path didn’t resonate with me, prompting a deeper exploration of my true self.
I shifted my focus to Kinesiology, learning therapeutic techniques that connected the nervous system to our human experience. This education deepened my understanding of the body and soul, but I still felt a pull towards creativity. After four years as a CEO assistant in human resources, I realized that painting was my essential outlet—a means of expressing my internal world and sense of purpose.
Painting is my favorite medium, especially creating abstract works and surrealistic illustrations. I enjoy experimenting with different perspectives, often presenting two illustrations in one. For me, art is a language that articulates the mysteries of life and my personal growth. I draw inspiration from the enigmas of existence, the paradoxes of the universe, such as Yin and Yang.
These contradictions—like the balance of feminine and masculine energies, light and dark, and the interplay between the abstract and the visible—fuel my creativity. Each piece I create invites viewers to reflect on these complexities and find their own connections.
Through my artwork, I hope to offer glimpses into life’s mysteries, inviting contemplation of the balance of light and shadow, order and chaos, seen and unseen, as we navigate what lies just beyond the ordinary.
